Introduction
The Society has acquired several telescopes kindly donated by members and friends over the years. Here is a preview of what is available. Each instrument has a custodian who should be contacted to arrange a loan. The telescopes are in good working order but if a problem arises, please contact the custodian immediately. Telescopes should be returned in May for inspection, and the next loan period is then June to September (suggested).

Description:
H-alpha Solar Telescope on EQ mount with Sidereal Drive.
Operation: Set the tripod on solid ground and polar align. Mark the position of the tripod legs. Start the sidereal drive.
Slacken the axis clamps and gently move the telescope tube to the SUN. When near the object tighten the clamp and use the fine controls. Avoid glancing at the Sun directly.Use the appropriate finders. The sun needs a cloud free sky for best viewing, and a 13 to 10mm eyepiece. Solar Imaging is possible.

Suitable for the SUN only !
